Allister Jones

Allister Jones did a complete 180 degrees change in career direction, from a successful but overworked engineer, to a Fitness Coach and Owner/Operator of a CrossFit affiliate because of a belief in making a difference by helping others discover and practice a fun, challenging, and community based fitness protocol.
Having spent most of his teens and twenties trying to get big and muscle bound in the typical “globo gym”, by 30 he was sick and unmotivated by the typical 2-4 day split body part workouts with isolated movements on machines and the whole gym atmosphere.
After discovering CrossFit in the fall of 2003 in Vancouver, he was hooked. The combination of Functional Movements (whole body and explosive), Constantly Varied workouts (both physically and mentally challenging) and High Intensity (dynamic group based environment), made him feel like a kid again.
After the birth of their 2nd girl, Allister and his wife Tamara decided to move their family to Kelowna where they could spend more time with their family and have a greater impact on their community has a whole by opening up a CrossFit Affiliate.
Allister’s passions are raising and watching their girls (5 and 3) grow-up and learn about life, and teaching, motivating and inspiring others to live healthy, challenging lives through CrossFit and a Healthy Diet.
Active from the age of 5 through various sports such as hockey, swimming, diving, skiing, basketball, running, cycling, weightlifting, golf, he now calls the Sport of CrossFit his fitness passion.
Background in Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng McGill University, 95) along with CrossFit Level 1 Certification, avid CrossFit athlete since 2004 at CrossFit Vancouver with CrossFit Certifications in Gymnastics training, Running and Endurance training, along with the Posetech running method, and NCCP Competitive Olympic Weightlifting trained with the Canadian Weightlifting Federation.
The brightest part of his day comes when he can help a member, from competitive teenage hockey players to grandmas and everyone in between, achieve a goal they never thought was attainable.
