Catherine was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky where she grew up involved in many sports such as gymnastics, soccer, cheerleading, softball and even a dabble in basketball. She eventually found her heart set on softball and cheerleading where she quickly realized her passion for sports and athletics. Catherine won softball championships and competed for numerous national titles with her All-Star squad. Upon reaching High School, she decided she was burnt out on sports and needed a break. While on her athletic hiatus, she developed a passion for heath and fitness after joining the local gym as a mean to stay in shape. Erik Rose began training in the field of acrobatics in 2004 where he discovered a fascination with movement and the capabilities of the human body. Shortly after he accepted a position at Excel Gymnastics where he is now head coach/manager of the tumbling program and a senior coach for their competitive gymnastics team. Always searching for a challenge, Erik took his first yoga class at a nearby Bikram studio in 2009 where his passion for movement quickly expanded to encompass yoga. After exploring a variety of disciplines, he entered into a yoga teacher training program at The OM Place yoga studio in 2012---the same studio where he has been teaching class since June. Erin Smith was born with deformed legs. A kid's class helped her learn at an early age how yoga can unlock the limitless potential of the human spirit. She is now the blessed owner and director of the OM place in Winchester, where her vinyasa classes focus on alignment and biomechanics with a playful application of dharmic philosophy. She is an E-RYT and a member of the International Yoga Therapists Association. Heidi's passion for fitness started with her interest in step aerobics while in high school. As an overweight child she often felt sluggish and alienated from her friends. After her first group exercise class, she was hooked! She loved the energy and spark she got from attending classes. Soon, she moved from taking class to teaching class. Kate Dorvel didn’t discover yoga until she was an over-worked, over-stressed, over- anxious Bostonian at age 24. An unplanned participation in a vinyasa class at Back Bay Yoga in Boston opened up a whole new world to her that continues to amaze her every day! Kate currently lives in Paris, Kentucky and is the Health and Wellness Director at the Paris Bourbon County YMCA. In addition, Melissa is STOTT Pilates Mat certified, trained on Reformer and ISP (Injuries and Special Populations). Melissa is also CPR certified.
