West Sixth Yoga, Barefoot Works Yoga

Anne Dean first sought out a regular yoga practice when she was going through the throes of a tumultuous relationship. When the relationship later ended, her yoga practice did not, and a piece of her heart forever remained on the floor of that studio. She was smitten and immediately decided to do a teacher training. She earned her 200 hour yoga teacher training through Barefoot Works Yoga in Lexington, Kentucky in 2010 and is a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. Anne Dean teaches regularly at Barefoot Works Yoga, the YMCA on High Street, and is the founder of West Sixth Yoga, a free community class that meets every week in the beer garden at West Sixth Brewery in Lexington. I have been doing Crossfit since September of 2007, when a buddy of mine found it on-line during a search for training programs that would help in preparing for the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge. I have found nothing better to prepare for firefighting and have used it to build the recruit physical training program for the Lexington Fire Dept. I am sold on it as a builder of a high base level of fitness and absolutely love the programming and group WODs – the community at Crossfit Maximus is really what keeps me engaged. She is co creator & owner of The Massage Center and Yoga Studio (est 1989) in historic Dudley Square. Originally from New York, she is a graduate of The University of Vermont, a Licensed Massage Therapist, 200 hour RYT Yoga Teacher and visionary. Jodi Chmielewski

Jodi Chmielewski, a native of Southern California, was a several-sport athlete when she was young, and she was recruited to play D1 softball in the PAC 12 for Oregon State University and drafted to play professional softball in the Women's Professional Softball League for the Tampa Bay Firestix in Florida. Her first season in the league, she garnered a championship world series ring. She went on to play and coach professionally for clubs in The Netherlands and in South Africa. Her first season in Holland, her club won the European Cup Championship in Spain. In the last decade Jodi has coached NCAA, D1 and D3 softball and facilitated youth softball camps and clinics.
