Feeding my soul allows me to nurture my relationships and it comes in many different ways for me. I love being at the barn and horseback riding, swimming, painting and I even danced competitively once upon a time. After finding a career in speech therapy, I found a way to nurture my soul in a different way. It was in working with my brain injury clients that I found yoga. After recommending yoga over and over to help with pain management and mental focus, I found myself really listening to what I was saying. Having been injured myself in a car accident, it made more sense that I make recommendations from an informed perspective...and that is when I found Moksha.
Yoga not only proved to be an aid for physical recovery and stress management, but it became home. The Moksha community became my family and it didn't take long for my husband Kyle to realize that if he wanted to see his wife, the best thing to do would be to join her! After practicing daily for a year and a half, I attended the month intensive training in Montreal and have not looked back since.
Teaching is a passion for me...but at the same time it isn't about me. Annette and Rob (owners of Moksha Yoga London) are such amazing, experienced and humble people and inspire me to be a better teacher. I work with the most knowledgeable and fantastic teachers and I wouldn't trade that for the world! I have also started volunteering my instruction for recovering addicts in their first stage of detox, bringing new insight to who I am and how I instruct. Each student brings something unique to class and it is my hope that I can encourage, challenge, and inspire them in some way so that they can have not only a positive, fun and super sweaty class, but also take some of that off the mat and into their everyday.
I am thankful for my relationship with lululemon as they have allowed me to connect and share yoga with more people in the community. They have also challenged me to push my self restricted limits and set goals with intention.
Yoga is my lifestyle and I am so very appreciative for all the blessings in my life. I love to learn, hence why I have a visual arts degree, a Communicative Disorders Assistant diploma and a certificate in Equine massage therapy! My family and friends have been beyond supportive in my journey and have even adopted some of my favourite catch phrases..."cool beans, down dog!" At home, Kyle and I love to hang out with our fur babies, read a good book, clean...well I love to clean! or shop at lululemon!
I believe that every path you take has lead you to here. There is no relevance is perseverating on the past as that prevents you from Moksha (liberation/freedom) right now!
