Lauren chose her career as a Fitness Professional out of her desire to help others make positive, sustainable lifestyle change. She’s driven by her passion for spreading health and wellness. Lauren holds her Masters in Social Work. She feels this provided an excellent foundation for a Fitness Professional; helping a client achieve a fitness or health goal involves changing many behaviors along a journey that is not only physical but also emotional. Lauren is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and a level 1 USA Triathlon Certified Coach. She not only loves training, teaching and coaching clients but she also loves to collaborate and partner with other Fitness Professionals.
Lauren’s always moving, growing and getting her hands involved in something. She owns two Orange Shoe Personal Fitness franchises in Madison, WI and serves as VP of Operations for Orange Shoe’s franchising company. Orange Shoe is a boutique studio that offers customized personal fitness solutions to individuals, community groups and businesses. “Our team builds strong relationships with each person we work with, we get to know and understand their needs and motivations to better partner with the individual to achieve his/her ever-evolving health and fitness goals.” Lauren is also co-founder of LoziLu; a national series of women’s mud runs. LoziLu’s mission is to spread happiness, health and fitness while supporting leukemia and lymphoma research. Lauren creates training programs to help LoziLu participants, whether a workout newbie or a seasoned athlete, conquer the mud run and propel her fitness to new levels.
Lauren is always up for a new way to sweat but the two workouts she would never turn down would be heading out on a bike ride with her husband or hitting the trails on a sunny day for a run with her best bud (her chocolate lab named Porter). Lauren is a competitive triathlete with many first place age group and overall finishes to her name. She’s competed at 6 Ironmans, including 2 at Ironman World Championships as well as represented the U.S. as an athlete at triathlon long-course worlds.
Smart. Steady. Smooth. Strong. This is the mantra Lauren lives by…and it’s been tattooed on her foot since 2006. Lauren’s big audacious goal is to not only continue to be involved in health and fitness with individuals but also to contribute to a movement integrating fitness and wellness into mainstream health and medical practices to create new solutions for our country’s health care crisis. And, her other big goal…someday, she hopes to be an awesome Mom.
