Deborah Blair

I love sports and fitness. As a young girl, I was always outside riding my bike, riding my horse, playing lots of sports such as; soccer, softball, volleyball and tennis. The outdoors is my playground and I love every minute of it. I became an avid runner between the births of my daughter and my son. My friends, who lived next door to me were both training for the NYC marathon. I told myself: one day I would do the same. So, I took up the sport, jumped into a bunch of short races and eventually worked my way up to the NYC marathon myself!! It was such an amazing experience and I enjoy each and every run leading up to the race. I have made some amazing friendships and have passed on my passion to others around me. I presently coach over 400 runners a year with many different training... Read the profile >>

Jason Gershon

My name is Jason Gershon. I'm the Mixed Combat Arts coordinator at lifetime fitness. I've been doing martial arts my entire life, I can honestly say it has made me who I am today. It instilled discipline and self confidence in me as well as compassion at the same time . I was introduced to wrestling in 7th grade and never looked back. It was only natural to continue feeding my competitive nature into adulthood which is when I found the gentle art of Brazilian Jujitsu and found where my true passion lies. I have trained with world renound instructors Renzo Gracie and Matt Serra for the past ten years and in that time, honed my skills as an all around mixed martial artist. Today, I couldn't be happier, doing what I love, in a profession teaching mixed martial arts to others. Some of... Read the profile >>

Shari Thompson

Shari teaches at Yoga Life of Port Washington. "Kentucky born and bred, I moved to New York 19 years ago and consider this my home. Movement and the art of movement have always been an important part of my life - I studied dance for almost 20 years and owned a dance and aerobics studio in Kentucky. About six years ago someone asked me to attend my first yoga class. I'd been studying pilates for five years and had practiced nearly every other form of exercise under the sun, so I figured why not give it a try. I went to Joanne's class with an enormous amount of reservation and doubt that I'd even like it - what a surprise I was in for. I felt great after class, invigorated, alive and happy. The people in class were friendly and encouraging, too. I knew decided that day to make yoga part... Read the profile >>
