Nick has been coaching a variety of sports for nearly twenty years, and participating for even longer.
A level 4 accredited coach with Athletics Australia, with extensive experience working with runners of all ages and levels, Nick was the head coach of athletics and cross country at Wesley College, Melbourne from 2000-2009, the National Junior Development & Transition Manager for Athletics Australia from 2009-2011, as well as a team coach and manager for Victorian and Australian representative teams. Recently, a coach with Sporting Spirit, Nick is also very involved in coach education, as a facilitator with Athletics Victoria and curriculum consultant to Athletics Australia.
Athletically, Nick has been a regular club competitor in track and road race events for many years, with experience racing everything from sprint track events through to the marathon. As a triathlete, Nick completed three ironman events, with a best finish time of less than 10 hours (New Zealand, 1999) and competed regularly in local events, including in the elite division.
Coaching experience extends from working with track athletes competing in national championship finals, recreational runners looking to complete their first event, and aspiring elite sportspeople in a range of sports, including AFL draftees.
As a fitness, running skills and conditioning coach, the experience, expertise, qualifications and personal attention that Nick brings to the job, is second to none.
