Marianne Thorborg est une passionnée de mouvement depuis toujours et l’exprime de manière variée. Après l’obtention de son diplôme de l’Académie de ballet de Göteborg en Suède et des études à l’Université Berkeley aux États-Unis, elle a travaillé comme danseuse, chorégraphe et professeur de danse ici et à l’étranger. Elle a entre autre travaillé avec les chorégraphes Suzanne Miller et Allan Paivio (MAPS), ainsi que Mariko Tanabe.
Après l’arrivée de son deuxième enfant, Marianne décide d’approfondir sa passion née dix ans plus tôt pour le yoga et d’en devenir professeur. Elle obtient son certificat de professeur de yoga auprès de Karen Claffey, au studio Heaven on Earth de Pierrefonds en juin 2007, après avoir enseigné le yoga et le fitness chez GoodLife et au YMCA pendant quelques années.
En réponse au besoin croissant d’un espace approprié au yoga pour ses étudiants, Marianne ouvre le studio Yoga Soleil&Lune à Dorval en septembre 2007. C’est sous ses yeux fiers et ravis que l’espace et ses participants prennent maintenant leur essor, en toute beauté et clarté !
Marianne Thorborg has a life-long passion for movement that has expressed itself in various ways. After her graduation from the Gothenburg Ballet Academy in Sweden and her studies at the Dramatic Arts Department at UC Berkeley in the US she worked as a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher in Sweden, Denmark and Canada. Among the choreographers she has worked with in Montreal are Suzanne Miller & Allan Paivio (MAPS) and Mariko Tanabe.
After having her second child, Marianne decided to pursue her 10 -year old passion for yoga and to become a yoga teacher. She completed her yoga teacher certification with Karen Claffey, Heaven on Earth Studio, in June 2007 after having taught yoga and group fitness at GoodLife and the Y for a few years.
As a response to a growing need for a yoga studio for her students, Marianne opened Sun&Moon Yoga in Dorval in September 2007. It is with great excitement and joy that she watches the students and the space unfold with such clarity and beauty.
