Joyful Yoga

Emily Joy Chiodo ERYT 500 I feel so fortunate to have been introduced to yoga as a child. Incarnated as a daughter of a yogini, I can remember yoga as natural expression of play and discovery during early years and I attempt to maintain that connection with my practice today. My yoga teaching career began with Bikram yoga in 1997, but it wasn't until after giving birth to my beautiful daughter, Raphaella, that yoga truly facilitated in my transformation. I found a deeper connection to myself through the linking of breath and movement that is fostered within the vinyasa approach. I am not your typical yoga teacher! After graduating from Emory University with a B.A. in Psychology, my career started with a psych internship in Washington D.C. I moved to NYC at age 22 and worked in advertising, sales and marketing for many years, leading to a high-level Senior Account Manager position with a litigation consulting firm. It was a total rat race - I was traveling every week, meeting with and giving presentations to the best litigation attorneys in the country. I had a very high salary, but I really wasn’t happy. I longed to “find my purpose” but I didn’t know what it was yet. I had tried yoga off and on for years, but it was going through a hard time in my life... Read the profile >>
