I am not your typical yoga teacher! After graduating from Emory University with a B.A. in Psychology, my career started with a psych internship in Washington D.C. I loved helping people and wanted to make a difference, but I wanted to explore more of life. I moved to NYC at age 22 and worked in advertising, sales and marketing for many years, leading to a high-level Senior Account Manager position with a litigation consulting firm. It was a total rat race - I was traveling every week, meeting with and giving presentations to the best litigation attorneys in the country. I had a very high salary, but I really wasn’t happy. I longed to “find my purpose” but I didn’t know what it was yet.
I had tried yoga off and on for years, but it was going through a hard time in my life that led me to begin practicing every day. Experiencing the transformation that occurred was like magic. I discovered myself, who I truly am, in a way I never had before. Doing yoga made me so happy that I knew I had to share it, so I decided to start teaching full-time in 2007. I completed over 200 hours of incredible training with Baron Baptiste, but I have also studied with and continue to study with amazing teachers such as Erich Schiffmann, Amrit Desai, Steve Ross, Rolf Gates, John Friend, Cyndi Lee, Kathryn Budig, Seane Corn, and many others. My teaching style is one of empowerment, inspiration, and joy, encouraging students of all levels to keep growing and evolving, discovering the happiness that is already inside of all of us. And...even when it’s challenging, to just have fun and not take it all so seriously!
