Kathy Walsh did not come to yoga because she was flexible and graceful. In fact, quite the opposite. At the age of 6, joining her first swim team, Kathy fell in love with working her body...hard! But after having 4 children and tearing up the road with countless triathlons, she felt she needed to "do a little stretching".

Convinced immediately of the physical benefits of yoga, it is the internal beauty of yoga that surprised her and continues to inspire her practice. "Physically you will become stronger and more flexible, but the glory of yoga happens within your heart and mind, through the practice of pranayama, or breath work", she says.

"Your breath can literally heal your body. I can show you how to loosen a tight muscle with your breath and I can teach you how to relieve your stress and become more focused with that same breath." Her passion for yoga is evident and extremetly contagious!

In her classes, Kathy likes to incorporate anatomy and modern science, the history of yoga, and the mythology of the poses into a rigourous vinyasa flow. Upon leaving she'd like her students to feel that they've been physically challenged, learned something new, had fun, and are able to use their breath to promote peace in their daily lives. "Somehow yoga gets inside, I don't know how, but I've seen it a million times and I've felt it. If you practice yoga regularly, I promise you will become a more kind, patient, peaceful, focused, successful, and loving person- and these are very, very communicable qualities. You will spread that light to everyone who is blessed enough to be in your presence."
