Kate’s first real introduction to Yoga was in 1999 at Skidmore College when a good friend helped her calm her nerves before her senior music recital by leading her through a few rounds of nadi shodhana pranayama (channel cleaning breath). She was so relaxed after deep breathing and stretching, that she forgot to put her shoes on before walking onto the stage and performed the whole recital barefoot. Many years later, Kate came to Yoga with an open mind and the thought that a regular yoga practice might add diversity to her existing exercise routine, completely unaware that it would change the course of her life. Today, Kate is living her best life. Soaking up the joy of life, one day at a time has been the most important lesson Kate has learned from Yoga, to be happy, rather than search for happiness, to connect with people, rather than shy away from them, to live your dream, rather than dream about living.
Kate fell in love with the variety of physical challenge and purification through sweating that heated vinyasa offers. In 2010, her husband and favorite yoga buddy, Quinn, gave her a gift certificate to CorePower Yoga for her birthday and she put it straight towards a 200-hour Power Teacher Training. Almost two years later, Kate is teaching yoga and leading her fourth 200-hour teacher training for CorePower Yoga and has never been happier.
Kate is grateful for the opportunity to authentically connect with her students and be a witness to their unique journeys. With a professional background in the Arts (music & Interior design), Kate finds joy in creative expression of movement through vinyasa style yoga and strives to provide a positive environment and fun, challenging classes for her students, encouraging them to be inspired by their own unique potential. Kate teaches beginner and intermediate classes at CorePower Yoga Oak Park/River Forest, Park Ridge and Hinsdale locations, she teaches yoga privately, is a Life Coach, and leads 200-hour teacher trainings with CorePower Yoga, Chicago Suburbs. Kate is currently pursuing her 500-hour teacher training with Live, Love, Teach.
