Kim Schwab’s passion for fitness began in high school when she first laced up her running shoes and took to the streets. In college, she added weight lifting and was invited to her first yoga class by her freshman composition instructor. Her practice deepened when, while completing her graduate work in English at UNO, she discovered One Tree Yoga. She completed her 200 hour training in 2010 studying under Theresa Murphy and Tias Little and is now working toward her 500 hour certification through Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She currently divides her time between teaching Freshman Composition at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and leading fitness and yoga classes at Aspen Athletic Club and One Tree Yoga in Omaha. Kim’s yoga classes offer a unique balance of challenging asana and playfulness. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the cultivation of the body, mind, and spirit.
