Glow Yoga
My yoga journey began six years ago. I was an avid runner at the time, who knew little about yoga. I attended a hot yoga class that would alter my life forever, as I experienced feelings of pure elation after the class. As everyone’s yoga practice has multiple layers, mine continued from simply attending yoga classes to receiving my 200 hr RYT (Yoga Alliance Certified) teacher training. Soon after this, I left the corporate world and began construction of my own hot yoga studio- GLOW YOGA. Set amongst nature, It is by far the most unique studio in Durham!
Blending my love of physical fitness and yoga, I developed an innovative class called ‘Body Glow’. This class focuses on body sculpting techniques while integrating classic vinyasa flow. It is as unique as the studio! The class is in high demand because it is a blending of the Yoga ‘Bootcamps’ I run three times a year. The ‘Bootcamps’ have been life altering for many of my students. They cannot believe the physical and mental benefits that result from committing to an intensive four to six week program.
I have been fortunate to learn and practice with great yoga teachers such as Baron Baptiste, Rodney Yee, Sadie Nardini, Susan Richardson and Mark Laham. As yoga teachers, we must always be refreshing our knowledge and our practice. My knowledge growth will continue in October 2011 as I complete my ‘Journey into Power, level one teacher training with Baron Baptiste. I am also currently studying Sadie Nardini’s Core Strength Vinyasa teacher program.
Reiki is another integral part of my journey and the GLOW YOGA studio. We have two treatment rooms specifically designed for energy healing. I recently received my Reiki Master Level and plan on teaching this art to others. Reiki has greatly enhanced my life and my yoga practice.
I feel so blessed in this life because I am doing something I truly love to do. GLOW YOGA has allowed me to share the joy and life changing possibilities that come from practicing yoga. As my studio continues to grow and expand, so does my ability to spread the word of Yoga!!!
