Growing up, Lindsay was always involved in different sports and activities but never counted running as one of them. Following her return home after graduating from university, Lindsay’s dad decided to sign her up for a half-marathon running clinic at the local Running Room. He had always been an avid runner and thought his daughter would make a good running partner for his next race. Four months later, Lindsay and her dad crossed the finish line of the Ottawa half-marathon hand-in-hand. From that point on she was hooked. Lindsay completed her first full-marathon the following year and continues to run races with her dad, as well as her sister and the running friends she has made along the way.
Around the same time that Lindsay fell in love with running she also developed a passion for health and fitness as a whole. She discovered that the stress put on her body by training for long distance races required the support of a healthy and nutritious diet. Wanting to learn more about the effects of nutrition on the body, Lindsay enrolled in the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and became Registered Holistic Nutritionist.
Lindsay now spends her time sharing the knowledge that she has learned about running and nutrition with others. She opened Impact Nutrition, her own nutritional consulting business, and began instructing clinics with The Running Room. She takes so much pride in seeing runners of all ages and levels train for and reach their running goals. Lindsay hopes that she can share her knowledge with the Lululemon Oshawa community and hopefully inspire a few people to step out of their comfort zone, set a new goal, and achieve something they never thought was possible.
“The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start”
