I was raised in family where running isn’t just a sport, but a way of life. My parents and both of my brothers are very involved in running. One of my first memories as a little boy was of my father training for the New York City marathon. Shortly thereafter, at the age of 6, my parents entered me in my first kid’s fun run at a local 5k. Since then, I ran cross-country and track in high school and college. I enjoy running because it gives me a challenge and provides me a sense of relief from stress. One of the greatest moments of my life was running my first marathon, at the age of 18, with my dad. Now as the father of a young son, I hope that I can pass on the joy of running to him and possibly run a marathon with him one day. So far, I’ve run 14 marathons with a goal of running one in all 50 states. One of my favorite things to do is go for a run in a different city while traveling. You never know what you may find! I also enjoy running in local road races, supporting the community and seeing the participation rate increase over the years. In 2012, I hope to run at least 3 miles every day and complete 3,000 miles for the year. Outside of running, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
