I am a Florida native and love that I get to train in paradise everyday! I am the youngest of 4 kids and growing up I was always active whether it was playing sports or running around the neighborhood from my siblings. It didn't take long for me to find my love for running. I started running at age 11 and haven't stopped yet. I graduated from Florida State University where I ran cross country and track. After college I wanted a new challenge and decided to try a marathon. The Disney Marathon was my first followed by 5 others including Boston and NYC. Once again I wanted a new challenge so decided to try a triathlon. My first time at swim practice I barely made it 2 laps and hated it!! However, after a lot of hard work and determination I completed my first sprint triathlon and many more followed. I then wanted to complete a 1/2 Ironman and did so after breaking by elbow in a bike crash 4 weeks before the race. To this day I have completed 6 1/2 Ironman races including 2 that were World Championship races. However, my proudest moment was completing Ironman Cozumel, truly an expereince I will never forget.
Outside of training and racing I am a Middle School PE teacher and track coach and love that I can be an example to my students. I also love cooking, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
I love the competition of both running and triathlons but mostly I love the journey that I take in my training and with my friends to make it to each destination.
