Karen Burnett, Ambassador Alumni

Karen Burnett is a fitness educator who has studied dance, group exercise, sports conditioning, personal training, martial arts, and yoga for more than 25 years. She received a B.A. at the University of Oklahoma but her passion for music and movement spurred her to continue her education in exercise and create her healthy lifestyle in South Florida today.

As a Reebok Master Trainer, Karen traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally presenting her choreography workshops and Reebok University programs including Step Reebok, Cycle Reebok, Core Reebok and Reebok Martial Arts. As the Director of Group Exercise for PGA National Resort & Spa for 12 years, Karen created and managed an innovative and successful group exercise schedule of over 80 classes.

Jennifer Capriati, WTA professional tennis player, hired Karen as her personal fitness conditioning coach when she returned to tennis. Over the course of 7 years, Karen traveled to tournaments to personally motivate and design her progressive training program, which led to three Grand Slam titles. Together they reached #1 in the world.

Karen is a nationally recognized fitness specialist and has been featured and quoted by People, Sports Illustrated, Fitness, Tennis Magazine, Self, Bridal Guide, Child Magazine and many other publications. She appeared as a fitness expert, instructor and co-host on FitTV cable network and leads several fitness videos for Reebok. She holds a variety of certifications including her 200RYT Baron Baptiste Power Vinyasa and 500RYT through Yoga South. Karen’s husband, Jeff, and two children, Sydney (9) and Lukas (7), share her love for exercise and dance. She knows that doing what she loves every day improves all aspects of her life with her family. What is her professional answer to the question “what is the best exercise.” Karen says “the exercise that you enjoy…because that’s the only one you will do for the rest of your life.”
