Originally from Ohio (GO BUCKEYES) Teresa attended The University of Akron and received a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. It wasn't until she moved to Georgia that Teresa really began to run competively. Starting with only running 5Ks and then bumping it up to 10Ks, Teresa never in her life would ever imagine running more than that. That was until one day, a good friend thought it would be a good challenge to try a half marathon. She put together a personal training schedule and headed out for her first half marathon in Nashville, Tennessee in 2004.
After moving to Florida Teresa ran to meet freinds. Her mileage started increasing, slowly. In the fall of 2007 she decided to run her first marathon in Arizona (Rock and Roll series)!
Teresa signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon in 2008, and hit a minor bump in the road with an unfortunate accident. She was hit by a car when heading out for my 20 mile training run. It was a hit-and-run accident but fortunately, they caught the person. That didn't stop her, it actually made her stronger. After recovering and going through all the rehabilitation, she started thinking of the next adventure....marathon? Boston? Triathlon?
Teresa ran the Marine Corps Marathon in 2009 then trained a little harder, and a little faster She completed her first Ironman in Texas May 2011 and went on to complete a Florida ironman November 2012. Teresa continues to train, race and teach spin at Krank It Spin studio.
