Janine Conte

After practicing several different styles of yoga for four years, Janine walked into her first Anusara yoga class in the fall of 2001 and immediately fell in love (and out of a handstand!) with the principles and philosophy of Anusara yoga. It became the yoga that made the most sense and brought her out of some long-time aches and pains. It also launched a spiritual journey that took her practice off the mat and expanded her heart in ways she never imagined.
Over the next several years, Janine exclusively took Anusara classes and workshops and was eventually convinced to take the next steps to become a teacher by Jennifer Webster and Mark Frankel. It was time to share the love of Anusara with her community.
Janine completed her first Immersion and Teacher Training in 2007 with Naime Jezzeny, Sue Elkind, Scott Lewicki and Jessica Jennings at Mission Street Yoga in South Pasadena. Additionally, she can regularly be found soaking up the wisdom of John Friend, Douglas Brooks, Noah Maze, and many other local teachers.
Janine teaches at Equinox, Mission Street Yoga, the Crescenta-Canada YMCA, La Canada Community Center. She also teaches to the Los Angeles Derby Dolls and is proud to be part of the Enforcers team.
