Julie Marchese


Julie Marchese is a cancer survivor. Her cancer journey helped her find her love of multisport training. In June of 2005 she accomplished her first triathlon. Crossing the finish changed her life forever. In 2008, Julie founded Tri for a Cure. An all women’s triathlon for the Maine Cancer Foundation. Over the past 5 years the event has raised over 4 million dollars. The race has reached over 4,000 women in the State of Maine and beyond.

Julie also founded Inspired Events, an event planning company that produces fundraising events around the state. Clients include: Maine Cancer Foundation – Tri for a Cure & Twilight 5K; Cumberland County YMCA – Tri for the Y & Crank & Shank Duathlon; WCSH 6 – Fit @ 5K that benefits Special Olympics; The Kidney Foundation; The Kennebunkport Food & Wine Festival benefiting Share Our Strength.

Julie also founded sheJAMs with three other friends. sheJAMs is an all women’s club that brings together women of all ages and abilities who enjoy being active. The club creates a social atmosphere for women to train together in a non-competitive spirit, to feed off each others experiences, to share our accomplishments, and revel in the energy that a group of women with common interested can generate. sheJAMs has over 150 active members.

In 2012, sheJAMs got into the race business. The Dynamic Dirt Challenge is a hardcore off –road 4+ mile obstacle course designed to challenge your all around strength, stamina, mental grit. The REV 3 sheJAMs Triathlon is an all women’s Olympic Triathlon to benefit Maine Cancer Foundation. This is a race within a race concept that is a partnership with REV3. Julie is the race director for both of these new races.

Julie lives in Cumberland with her husband Dave and her children, Lauren, Paige, Ben & Gabe. They all live a very active lifestyle!
