Shri Vinyasa Yoga

A born seeker, I was fascinated by India & yoga since I first saw the Beatles with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in old films. I found meditation while still in high school, and eventually, through study and living in the ashram of Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, I met my two most significant mentors: John Friend and Douglas Brooks. That precise pairing of exacting asana and influential philosophy defines my style of yoga teaching and it is what I try to bring to every class I teach. Using inspiring teachings that I encounter from life & yoga lore or philosophy as themes, I work hard to weave movement and words, guiding students through the practice and at the same time guiding people within themselves. I deeply want students to know that there is nothing confronting any of us that we... Read the profile >>

CrossFit Webster, Flower City CrossFit

After being born and raised on a farm in upstate New York, I received college degrees at Cazenovia College and Syracuse University. Always having a passion for athletics, I ran track and cross country, and played soccer and volleyball. I began practicing Martials Arts in 2006, receiving my 1st degree Black Belt in 2009 and 2nd degree Black Belt in 2011. In September of 2012 I became a CrossFit Coach, and began teaching at sister CrossFit gyms: Flower City & CrossFit Webster. The decision to coach was one of the best choices I've ever made. The energy, feeling of accomplishment, and comraderie I experience in CrossFit goes unrivaled in any of the other athletics I practice. Coaching CrossFit has truly given me a way to love what I do as a profession. Jess currently lives in... Read the profile >>

I began my yoga journey through competitive racing in marathons and triathlons around 2003. I have always been an athlete, from basketball to cheerleading, and have had passion in fitness and health. I used yoga and endurance racing to cope with stress and to keep healthy during medical school and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. As my clinical experience grew in medicine, I sought to use yoga and other mind/body exercises such as TRX, Hoopnotica Flow, Pilates, Cirque Fit, and Barre as modalities to not only keep people fit, but well. I later became board-certified to practice Integrative and Holistic Medicine. I am an experienced registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance and received training primarily in an Anusara inspired/Alignment-based yoga program. I also took... Read the profile >>

Midtown Athletic Club

My passion for health and wellness started at a young age. At 16 years old I volunteered as a nurse’s aide at a local university hospital. I then furthered my education and obtained a bachelor’s of science in Nursing from Ohio Wesleyan University. I worked most of my profession career as a nurse in the medical intensive care unit. It is here that I first witnessed the undeniable connection of the mind, body and soul. In 1999 I took my first yoga class. I knew very quickly that this was my next path of wellness. For me personally, my mat became my home to find harmony in my body, mind, and spirit - a place of nourishment for the soul. My love and passion grew tremendously for yoga and I discovered a need to share with others. Yoga became a place to shine my light and help... Read the profile >>

breathe yoga, Greece

I am a dedicated yoga teacher and wife, and an animal lover. This past year I have also had the opportunity to become co-owner of the first breathe yoga studio franchise in Greece, NY. Yoga to me means the opportunity to transform, to quiet the mind, to move beyond limitations, and to embrace each step in the journey of self-growth. Each day I have this amazing opportunity to roll out my mat and to shape and re-define the context of my life that I am living from, and to align it with my highest self. Teaching yoga is a privilege that allows me to share what I have learned with others. It allows me to bare witness to the self-discovery and transformational process of each person that rolls out their mat with me. I have found great inspiration in master teachers such as Seane Corn, Baron... Read the profile >>
