Breathe Yoga
Carly Weis, E-RYT. The thing I love about yoga is the fact that it’s an infinite process. It sounds simple, or maybe it sounds anything but simple, but I love that it’s the one thing on my life list that doesn’t have a blank box next to it waiting to be filled with a check mark. Yoga is not something to complete or to succeed at or do to perfection — and it’s that feeling I search for as a student when I take class and one I strive to provide when I teach. For me, yoga is a life-long membership with no expiration date in sight. I am incredibly grateful to the teachers in my life who have taught me, inspired me, and have each left a permanent impression on who I am as a teacher. Natasha Rizopoulos who gave me my foundation, Baron Baptiste who gave me heart and soul, Vinnie... Read the profile >>

“Let your life be your message” – Gandhi At my 2012 breathe New Year’s Day Benefit Class, I promised myself and my students that I would let my life be my message... There are moments that I am an absolute mess. Really. A few years ago, I decided to get divorced. I was living in Dallas with a very nice man, in a very nice house. I had a very nice job and a very nice place to practice and teach Yoga. I had very, very nice friends and the weather, for the most part, was always very nice. All in all, it was very, nice and I probably could have continued on that way for a very, very long time. But, Love had other plans for me. And in one moment, just one single breath, Love decided that my very nice life needed a little passion, a little reminder... 1988. I met... Read the profile >>
Bikram Rochester
A friend of mine brought me to my first Bikram yoga class in 2004 in New York City. After that, I started going every day and completed thirty days in a row. Thirty days turned into sixty and before I knew it, I had become a regular. I practiced regularly for months and then one day, because of some unexpected changes in my life, I stopped practicing. I didn't practice for almost six years! In 2010, a couple of careers and whole lot of life later, I decided to try a Bikram yoga class again. One class turned into two, then three and before I knew it, I had finished another sixty days in a row. But something was different this time ... my mind had changed along with my body. I felt invigorated, renewed, and everything was clear forthe first time in, well, six years! I knew, right then... Read the profile >>

Jen first stepped onto her mat in 2003 and was immediately hooked on yoga. As she moved and stretched in a variety of different classes, she began to realize that yoga was not only changing her body, it was changing HER. Along with a deeper relationship with her body came the cultivation of a deeper relationship with her heart, and she found the many negative ideas she held about herself starting to disappear. Those voices just started to slip away. With this came so many tears spilled on the yoga room floor, which led to many great transitions in her life. She felt like she was cracking open…becoming HERSELF. She was becoming comfortable in her own skin, comfortable with the words coming out of her mouth, comfortable with truth, honesty, and sweet effort. This... Read the profile >>

Prana Yoga and Founder of IRoc Yoga
Melinda McAuliff, Teacher at Prana Yoga and Founder of iRocYoga Yoga has something new to teach us in every stage in life, and if we are truly open to it – we can find something new to be learned in each practice and each pose. Some days the lessons may be mechanical – shifting the position of your foot in Warrior 1 or leveling your hips in Half Pigeon. At other times, the lessons go deeper to reveal opportunities for healing, correction and growth. I have personally found my yoga to be a place of self-discovery, forgiveness, acceptance, gratitude and love. In yoga, I’ve found and nurtured the voice that says “you are enough, just as you are.” Through my teaching I hope to share that message with my students as well. It is my desire, that no matter how many things are... Read the profile >>

I have had a love for running and fitness my entire life. I retired from my first career in pharmaceutical sales after the birth of our first born in 1999. It didn’t take me long to find my path to sharing my passion for fitness with others. I quickly immersed myself in various group exercise certifications. These include: cardio and step, kick boxing, sports conditioning, boot camp, aquatics, core muscle, various cycle certifications (including Reebok and Keiser) and RRCA (Road Runner Club of America) Certified Running Coach. Personally, running has always been my passion. I have run many races from 5ks to marathons and everything in between. My love is the MARATHON! I have run 11 so far….….. Chicago Marathon ‘02, Country Music Marathon ‘05, Boston Marathon ‘06,... Read the profile >>

Moving was a part of my family growing up- we hiked, biked, canoed, camped, skied, etc. Then when I was in elementary school, my parents started "jogging." I went along with them, and something about it fit for me and I have been running ever since, no matter what the weather. When the snow starts to cover the ground, I take my training on snowshoes. I ran competitively through junior high, high school and college. I continued running when I had my children (albeit a little slower and less often!) I still enjoy other activities, but running has been a consistent part of my life. Keeping a close sense of family is always a priority. I appreciate the time with my sons as they navigate their way through the teenage years. In the past few years, I have increased my running/snowshoeing, and... Read the profile >>

For as long as I can remember I have had a special relationship with fitness and the spiritual connection between the mind and body. In October, 2010 I had an ahhh haaaa in shavasana, I knew I wanted to teach yoga. I came out of shavasana and walked up to Randi Lattimore, Midtown Mind/Body Director and told her I wanted to join her team and teach. Randi picked me up swung me around and took me in under her wing. Randi believed in me and is my yoga master and mentor. I have been blessed to continue to grow my love and knowledge of Yoga continually inspired by: Karyn Lederman, Laura Zakbar, Aimee Senise Bohn, Shannon Mullen, Doug Rusho, and Lyndsey Fryer. I trained with John Salisbury and recently trained with Barron Baptist in the Catskills for eight days in yoga... Read the profile >>
