A San Antonio native, I never could seem to leave my roots for long. I went to college here and soon after found myself a nine to five, considering that was the expectation. I met wonderful people and learned a great deal, but my soul was not satisfied. I took a huge risk in 2006 and left my well-paying, secure corporate job and high-heels in order to… well, sell stretchy yoga pants. As a manager at lululemon, among many other valuable lessons I absorbed, I learned that I could mold this short, precious life however I wanted, and didn’t waste much time. My personal yoga practice strengthened and I quickly found that my true passion was in teaching. After attending teacher training in Encinitas, CA with Tim Miller, I started a business teaching private and corporate yoga classes and within a year was able to do so full-time. Through the years and with a consistent practice, yoga has stilled my mind and body as I allow myself to focus within and just breathe. Yoga has provided me strength and courage, inner peace and most importantly balance in all aspects of my life. I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with individuals through yoga, and strongly believe that yoga is a constant discovery. My classes are designed to accommodate students at all levels as I encourage them to expand their mind and body awareness in order to create their own unique practice. My path towards establishing SYL was not without hurdles and setbacks. Sometimes God has unusual ways of directing us. However, it has been a journey that I have embraced and have learned to appreciate as a blessing in disguise - a journey in which we are all constantly growing, discovering, and stretching the mind, body and soul. I would like to thank my ever-supportive husband, Eddie and our parents for their infinite guidance and love. Our family welcomes you to SYL!
