Kelsey hails from a family of coaches and athletes of every variety in Central California. She found her initial passion in volleyball and was recruited to play at the University of California, San Diego. During her time at UCSD, the Tritons remained nationally ranked all four years of her tenure and made an appearance at the Division II Final Four. Unfortunately, halfway through her senior season Kelsey blew out her knee. This turn of event led her to her true passion in life, Pilates.
