Yoga @ Cindy's

Little did Cindy know, that her curiosity purchase of her first Yoga book, 20 Minute Yoga Workouts, back when she was a student in college, was the start of her love affair with Yoga which would eventually lead her to discover the answer to the age-old question: "What do you want to do when you grow up?".

Cindy spent the first 2.5 years of her "grown up" life at her first(and hopefully last) corporate job, which she dreaded waking up to go to. It was during this time that she began her daily practice of Yoga. Most days she felt like the only thing dragging her out of bed and to the office was the fact that the Yoga studio she went to was near work and not home. So, if she didn't make the commute to work, it meant no Yoga -- which equaled an unhappy, off-balance, Cindy. Realizing something was wrong with this picture she left her job and enrolled in her first teacher training. At the time, she didn't have a plan, she just knew that she had to find joy in her daily life again -- the same joy she found on her mat.

Over the last 8 years, Cindy has been fortunate enough to do something she truly LOVES -- teach Yoga. She has taught abroad in Asia, as well as all over the Bay Area. In 2006, she opened Yoga@Cindy's -- an intimate, welcoming, attitude-free studio, created on the belief that Yoga is for everyone. Y@C specializes in Heated Flow classes, but offers other styles as well, including Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, as well as a 200hr Yoga Alliance accredited Teacher Training. While she still LOVES practicing and teaching, she also LOVES just being at the studio on a daily basis getting to know the community. She has learned that it is these connections with others that make life joyful.

Cindy is extremely grateful to be able to do what she loves for a job. To her Yoga is not just a job, or a way to keep in shape, but it's a way of life. Yoga has taught her that we all have the power to choose a life that will make us happy, we just have to be present enough to listen. Cindy has a wonderfully encouraging and supportive partner in life, and an amazing 2 year old son and 11 year old stepson, who make life that much sweeter.

"It is an honor to be an ambassador for lululemon, San Jose. I look forward to making new connections with the active community of San Jose and forming new friendships."
