Danny Lesslie

Functional Fitness on the Bluffs

I grew up in the Midwest (KC), graduated from the University of Kansas with a Business Degree. My first job out of school was a Financial Advisor. After 3 unfulfilling years here I decided to make a move to the world of human movement. I wanted to help people move better and be stronger. I started out as a trainer at a local health club, with the dream of opening a gym of my own some day. I figured while I was dreaming, may as well make it in California, a place I knew I wanted to live. Fast forward 6 years later, a couple great decisions, and some driving, I made it. I just had my 3rd year here and am loving every minute of it. Since moving here, I have a established and maintained a private training clientele, started and grown a Santa Monica based outdoor fitness school... Read the profile >>

Govindas

Bhakti Yoga Shala

Govindas (Ira Jeffrey Rosen) first came to yoga while living in Los Angeles in 1994 because of health concerns- specifically ulcerative colitis/crohn's/inflammatory bowel disease... After years of many different practices with the intention of healing(hatha yoga, ayurveda, buddhist meditation etc), Ira Rosen found his yogic "home' in the path of Bhakti Yoga... the aspect of yoga frequently described as the "yoga of the heart" or "the yoga of love and devotion". Not by avoiding or denying our life and health challenges, but only by accepting and courageously moving through and forward, the flower of our full appreciation and devotion to Life blooms. It is in this tradition of "Bhakti/Devotion" where Ira was given his spiritual name- Govind Das or simply "Govindas" which means "servant of... Read the profile >>

Rachelle Tratt

The Neshama Project & The Yoga Collective

I embarked on my yogic journey eight years ago. Upon taking my first yoga class, I felt at peace and at home. Intuitively I knew that yoga was destined to be a prominent element in my life’s journey Impacted by multiple tragic experiences from my childhood, it is the pursuit of yoga that continues to provide healing to my heart, body and soul. I try to keep classes light, playful, rooted in spirituality and a whole lotta soulful sweat. I love playing music with great beats from various dj’s that ,well, you could find me dancing to in my own backyard!. Always seeking to provide the best experience for students, I continue to expand my knowledge and understanding of yoga through personal practice, literature, workshops, teacher trainings, and music festivals too, because dancing is...
