Passionate about peace and dedicated to serving community, Jan has been studying and practicing yoga for the past 7 years. Her path began at Yasodhara Ashram in B.C., with the teachings of Swami Radha, and led her to Austria in 2003 where she completed her first teacher training, becoming one of the first 6 Canadian Certified Jivamukti Yoga Instructors. Jan continues to travel extensively to New York and Arizona for further training and study with her most generous, kind and beloved teachers, David Life and Sharon Gannon, co-founders of Jivamukti Yoga, and Geshe Michael Roach and Christie McNally, co-founders of Tibetan Heart Yoga. Jen Forbes
Kayak Born and raised in Saskatoon, Jen began kayaking in 1997 and has worked her way to becoming an international athlete. She has represented Canada at the Pan American Games and is dedicated to her sport. Her hard work is seen through her many accomplishments such as; finishing 1st in the U23 K-4 200m, 500m, 1000m at the 2004 Canada Cup. Kelsie Hendry
Pole-vault Kelsie is a highly recognized and accomplished athlete. She has an athletic background in gymnastics and has been competing in pole-vaulting for the past five years. Mark Minarik
Sensei Sensei Mark Minarik is a 4th degree black belt registered with the International Traditional Karate Federation, under Hidetaka Nishiyama. He is currently ranked as a Provincial Level A, and an International Level C official with the respective Traditional Karate governing bodies. He is also a strong competitor at Provincial, Regional, National, and International levels of competition. He has held the title of Provincial Kata and Kumite Champion for 9 consecutive years, National Team Kata Champions 1986-1989 and 1994-1996 consecutively. National Kata Champion 1995-1996 and Kumite Champion 1994-1995 and 1997. He has been chosen as a Canadian Team Member since 1986. Read the profile >>
Patricia Dewar
Yoga Instructor Patricia has taught and studied various aspects of body knowledge for over 30 years. However, in the past 15 years she as exclusively focused her studies on the practice and teachings of yoga. She is a committed student of Donald Moyer and Mary Lou Weprin at the Yoga Room in Berkeley, California. The work that is being emphasized is the importance of sequencing in yoga and the ability to see and understand student bodies. Action is described not simply in terms of what is done, but more importantly how action is initiated, sustained and completed.
