•Competed as an athlete on Canada’s National Jr. Softball Team at the 1991 World Championships
•Traveled internationally as a sport physiotherapist with Canada’s National Women’s Softball Team
•Provided Sport physiotherapy for the Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics Regional Training Centre for 4 years, Canadian Hockey Association, Saskatchewan Hockey Association, Softball Saskatchewan, Softball Canada, Saskatchewan Sailing Association and various local and provincial sporting events.
•Works with Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club in designing and implementing injury prevention and strength and conditioning programming
•Implemented strength and conditioning programs to the Provincial Men’s and Women’s Soccer and the Regional and National Training Centre soccer athletes for 3 years.
•Consults regularly for the Sport Medicine and Science Council of Saskatchewan and the Canadian Sport Centre Saskatchewan providing sport physiotherapy to its athletes
•15 years’ experience working as a sport physiotherapist in private practice
•Certified Specialist in the Prevention of Running Injuries (www.therunningclinic.ca)
•FMS (Functional Movement Screen) Certified
•SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) Level 2 Certification

Karen has also been a guest lecturer and lab instructor in the School of Physical Therapy at the University of Saskatchewan, and is a course instructor for the Canadian Sport Center’s Sport First Aid and Sport Taping Programs, offered in various communities throughout Saskatchewan.
