Katherine Kaufman

Alumna Ambassador

After retiring from the musical theater at the grand old age of 24 Katherine decided to try her hand at teaching aerobics. She began at Pro Robics on Queen Anne Hill and was a member of the original instructor team at Laurelhurst Pro Robics. She is currently Membership Development Coach at Magnuson Athletic Club.

The group fitness industry has changed a lot since Katherine began teaching and not just big puffy socks, and spandex leotards. Katherine stays up to date with industry trends by taking continuing education workshops and by attending the IDEA World Fitness Conference once a year. Teaching a varied assortment of group class formants including Step, Hi Lo, Interval Training and cycling, as well as a new program called Gravity gives Katherine the opportunity to work with a diverse group of fitness levels.

A firm believer in personal responsibility and taking ownership of ones workout Katherine is often lovingly referred to by her students and clients alike as Colonel Kitty. And that’s okay with her as long as they feel like they have accomplished something positive during their class with her.

She encourages you to come try a class! When she is not
teaching or training Katherine enjoys hanging out at her
home in Ballard with her husband and Boston transplant
Todd and her 2 dogs and 3 cats all NFL fans and proud members of the Red Sox Nation.
