Michel created Be – Yoga and Meditation LLC in 2006 to inspire people from all walks of life to live to their highest potential. Her highest vision is to see people living happy, healthy and inspired lives.

Michel happened upon yoga in 2001. New to yoga, she did not have a name for the style of yoga she was falling in love with, but she knew it unlocked her body and left her mentally refreshed in a way nothing else had. Now a certified instructor of Baptiste Power Vinyasa, Michel has been teaching since 2004. Combining this potent, athletic yoga practice with mindfulness techniques, Michel teaches a dynamic and grounding class meant to help each student find the yoga practice that is right for them. As she continues to train with leading yoga and mindfulness teachers, including Shiva Rae, Anna Forest, Jason Crandall, and Deepak Chopra, she integrates her own growth into classes, workshops and retreats.

With a background in conflict resolution, multicultural education and organizational change, Michel’s passion extends far beyond the yoga studio walls. Over the last few years, Michel has taken yoga and mindfulness to businesses, schools and individuals. These programs include personal coaching and retreats in The Art of Conscious Living, kids yoga and mindfulness programs such as Mindful Monkeys, corporate yoga, and corporate trainings such as Moving Beyond Fear and Conscious Communication. As Michel explains, “I believe firmly in Gandhi’s words that ‘we must become the change.’ At our core, we are each vibrant and kind people with something important to give, and my experience has shown that yoga and mindfulness enable us to live more authentically. I do this work because I believe that is how we will build a better world for all of us – how we will become the change.”
