Born and raised in South Africa, outdoor sports and over 16 years of modern dance shaped Angy’s complete devotion and love for exercise and healthy living. Her pursuit of Pilates began in 2004 after struggling with lower back pain for years. With an MBA, and over 13 years in the corporate marketing world, Angy finally switched to a much more rewarding and amazing career in Pilates. Anthony grew up playing volleyball in Santa Barbara under the tutelage of his High School Coach Jon Lee. He has been competing on the beach since he was 14 years old, and won his first tournament at 16. Although Medel grew up playing both indoor and beach volleyball, beach has always been his passion, and it has always been a dream of his to someday play alongside some of the all-time greats he grew up watching on the AVP Tour. After two years of Junior College volleyball, Medel decided to forgo his final two years of eligibility at a University and give the AVP Tour a shot. Becky Neumann
Becky Neumann has been "doing fitness" long before it was the "in" thing to do. Her athletic background started back in Junior High School when girls were told that could not compete and were only allowed to lead cheers for the boys from the sidelines. Soon enough, Becky found a way around this rule through the Girls Athletic Association and began playing tennis and volleyball. This began her dedication to the world of fitness. Dana McCaw
Dana’s interest in the health and fitness field stems back to high school where she first became a group exercise instructor. While leading various group exercise classes (think 90’s step class) she realized how much she enjoyed helping others reach their fitness goals and watching them make a commitment to lifelong health. This prompted her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Health Education and a Masters in Public Health at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Jonathon Conant, president and co-founder of Trapeze School New York, has been dedicated to improving life on this planet through counseling abandoned children, battered women, drug rehabilitation clients and the mentally ill. What he learned about supporting joy and addressing human suffering has found a blissful practice in teaching the flying trapeze. Julie Rader has been studying yoga and meditation since childhood. As a child she learned to use mental imagery from her mother to improve gymnastics routines. It appeared to work as she won several national competitions and went on to become an All American springboard diver in college. With a BA in Psychology and a MS in Physiology of Exercise, Julie has a strong knowledge of the mind/body connection. In 2002, Julie spent three months at an ashram in Sweden learning Kriya yoga, deep tantric meditations, under Swami Janakanada, from the Bihar school of Yoga philosophy. While attending the University of Sarajevo she served as a Physician Therapist Assistant at the Center of Reconstructive Surgery in Bosnia. Growing up, Leila excelled in multiple strength-concentrated athletics including gymnastics, swimming, show skiing and ice-skating. She found the mind-body relationship of athletic endurance challenging and fulfilling. "Live like you mean it!" Sarah pretty much played every sport growing up. She joined the volleyball club in college because she heard it was fun and hasn't looked back. A fourteen year professional beach volleyball career has been highlighted by a world tour bronze medal, an AVP title and an unforgettable experience competing in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. A consistent top 10 finisher on the AVP, Sarah now balances volleyball with parenting. She travels on the tour with her favorite fans- her daughter Alex (4), son Zach (2) and husband Greg Noyes, an AVP cameraman.
