Becky Neumann
Becky Neumann has been "doing fitness" long before it was the "in" thing to do. Her athletic background started back in Junior High School when girls were told that could not compete and were only allowed to lead cheers for the boys from the sidelines. Soon enough, Becky found a way around this rule through the Girls Athletic Association and began playing tennis and volleyball. This began her dedication to the world of fitness.
Neumann majored in Physical Education at Northern Illinois University. She taught P.E. and coached track and cross country for 15 years in Culver City, California. Becky's career later moved into club fitness and private training. She has been teaching group fitness classes such as weight training and spinning at the Spectrum Club in Manhattan Beach for the past 12 years.
"Weight training is a language that I want to share and teach to others," states Neumann. "I believe there is something so empowering about walking into any weight room and knowing what to do. And, to be strong enough at an age when many women could not imagine ten pull-ups could ever be a possibility is wonderful." At age 61, Neumann proves that every day to herself and to her clients. One favorite client story that brings a smile to Neumann's face supporting her belief in the power of strength is of a group of ladies who met each other in a weight training class she taught back in the late 80's. We found a common bound and have remained great friends and lifting partners for over 20 years.
Aside from her life's dedication to fitness, Becky is an avid Flea Market attendee who collects fun and unique Western and Cowboy memorabilia. She hopes to someday outfit a 19' Airstream Trailer and go maybe somewhere, maybe nowhere, in it. Simply enjoying the amazing design and function of a perfect little home on wheels may just be enough. That idea of pure freedom is an image that inspires her and keeps her looking forward.
