Natalie first started practicing yoga 18 years ago when a friend dragged her to an advanced class. After barely being able to walk for an entire week after that class, she felt drawn back to the mat and began what would soon become her life’s passion. Natalie completed her Level 1 200-hour Teacher Training at Black Dog Yoga in Sherman Oaks studying under Peter Barnett, Jenny Brill, Margaret Buckley, Maria Cristina Jimenez and Sigrid Matthews in April 2011. Feeling like she couldn't get enough yoga education under her belt, she then completed her Level 2 300-hour teacher training at Black Dog Yoga mentoring under Sigrid Matthews and completing an intensive anatomy course under the guidance of Leslie Kaminoff in March 2013. Natalie also earned her 12-hour Anusara Yoga for Pregnancy Teacher Training with Jessica Jennings at MA Yoga at Bini Birth in North Hollywood.
Natalie’s flow classes are alignment based and are both playful and powerful...while flowing to inspiring music. She draws on her studies in Anusara, Asthanga and Hatha yoga creating a vinyasa-style flow that, through proper alignment of the body, allows her students to reach that venerable place of body, mind and spirit. She welcomes all levels and encourages her students to try…EVERYTHING. Yoga has taught Natalie to approach her practice, and life, with a positive, open-hearted attitude; she invites others to do the same.
Natalie’s pre/postnatal classes will guide women through a safe yoga practice that is ideally suited to pregnancy and/or to new mothers who are making their way back to the mat. She creates a calming, relaxing, and empowering environment for expectant and new moms. Natalie had a dedicated yoga practice throughout two pregnancies and believes it is the breath work, combined with the asana practice, which led her to have easy, happy pregnancies, followed by amazing birthing experiences. In addition, returning to yoga postnatal was an integral part of her transformation to motherhood; getting back her pre-pregnancy body, learning patience and making precious time for herself, however short it may be. For new moms, she will begin with gentle movements that rebuild the pelvic floor and strengthen the abdominal wall.
Natalie lives in Sherman Oaks with her husband and best friend, Jamie, their two daughters and two cats.
