Daniel Cook

CrossFit has not only given Daniel an incredibly effective approach to fitness, it's given him a great community and genuine friends he will keep forever.

After celebrating most of his adult life competing in national level sprinting and grade rugby union, a head clash, resulting in a broken eye socket and nerve damage, meant contact sports were no longer a viable sporting option. Left with a need to fill that competitive drive that many athletes crave, Daniel's personal trainer at the time pointed him toward the world of CrossFit.

During a work secondment to San Diego, California, he became a member of CrossFit East Village, owned by two Navy SEALs. Day after day, week after week, he started to improve and before he knew it, his fitness level was at an all-time high.

On return to Australia he built upon his experiences in the US through his coaching at Inner West CrossFit in Leichhardt. Daniel's personal training goals have also led him to compete at Australian / New Zealand Regional level finishing 14th place in the CrossFit Games Australia Region 2013 (Team). As a CrossFit coach and as a lululemon ambassador, Daniel found the community, the spirit, and the feeling of being part of something which continues to give back, aligned perfectly with this own values and philosophies. You might even bump into him in a yoga class.

CrossFit Black, near Hyde Park in Sydney's CBD, is the culmination of Daniel's journey so far and the foundation for everything yet to come. As Owner and Head Coach, Daniel (or 'Cookie' as he's known to most) leads a community of people who have fun with their fitness.
