Akita Fitness
Growing up a mathlete, meant always being the last chosen for a team. Despite a lack of talent, Virginia committed to working to her personal best at all endeavors. A gym rat for 16 years, she has been screaming in most, and addicted to all fitness classes; it was the love of group classes that lead Virginia to her career in fitness, and it is her balanced approach that has kept her there. 7 years of instructing Spin, Muscle Conditioning, Yoga and Pilates Mat has brought opportunities of coaching, corporate motivational speaking, print, film and travel, all while helping people reach their goals, this has made fitness abundantly fulfilling.
Aside from training others, Virginia has been racing for 13 years, injury-free, completing two 10k’s, two half-marathons, a 30k, and 21 full marathons, qualifying for Boston Marathon last year. Virginia aspires to complete 50 marathons by the age of 51. Believing in diversity, she has twice competed in Fitness Model expos (FAME, 2007). Through experience, Virginia feels that life is all about finding the right challenges and attacking them with passion; there is nothing more inspiring to her than watching the overcoming of adversity.
