Shannon first stepped onto her yoga mat as a way to seek refuge from anxiety and to facilitate a method of movement that would allow her to practice deeper compassion toward herself. It was a completely different perspective and at times an uncomfortable, but welcomed, challenge that she expects will continue to evolve and shape her perspectives. Shannon's passion for fitness began when, as a young little girl, she would accompany her mother to aerobics classes and take in the 90’s aerobics videos. Shortly thereafter Shannon discovered the gym, and from then on being a gym member became non-negotiable. Along with exercise Shannon has always placed great importance on what she puts into her body, in an effort to not only perform her best but to feel her best too.

She teaches multiple styles and customizes programs for her private clients that range anywhere from stretch programs to building strength and endurance. A well versed instructor, Shannon has completed; the 200-hour Vinyasa based RYT with Yoga Works, Michael DeCorte’s 40 hr Jock Yoga Certification, and is currently training in Sadie Nardini’s Core Strength Vinyasa. Although Shannon has a strong Yogi background, she has always valued the balance of breath and meditation. This curiosity led her to Paul Lara of QiBelly, who she has closely worked with this past year. In this time she completed her level 1 and 2 Reiki Certification and will continue working toward Reiki Master.

Shannon is the founder of Purusha – Yoga with Intention. Purusha is just the beginning of what she is steadily blossoming into a larger yoga community. Her next step will be providing students access to a Teacher Training program whereby students can; connect with one another, deepen their practice, and achieve personal milestones they never thought possible.
