Julie Otis teaches an energetic, fluid yoga practice designed to help students connect breath to movement in an engaging, effective, and emotional style. In 2004, Julie completed her yoga certification training in Berkeley, California, with Ana Forrest, Jonathan Bowra, and Stephanie Snyder. Teaching for over eight years, her teaching methods have also been influenced by Rusty Wells, Baron Baptiste, and Schuyler Grant. Julie uses upbeat music to flow through unique, challenging sequences, while supporting students to connect to their own mind, body, and spirit. From experience, she has learned that yoga is not necessarily an easy path, as students must remove the layers of unnecessary baggage, in order to connect with their True Selves, the evolution of adhyatma prasara. Julie also teaches third grade in the Spanish Two-Way Immersion at Kings Beach Elementary School. When not on the mat, Julie loves to rock climb, hike, play in the snow or swim in Lake Tahoe (depending on the season), and eat good food. She is blessed with a happy home, and loving husband, Paul.
