I came to yoga in 2000 after many years as a competitive triathlete, snowboarder and adventure racer. I took my first yoga class because I heard it would enhance my athletic endeavors, little did I know. When I landed in a Baptiste Power Vinyasa class for the first time my whole world began to shift from a life of competition and self-defeating behaviors to a life of unity and possibility. Not only did I LOVE the asana practice, I found there was a sense of accountability from yoga. An accountability that moved me to do the work of releasing the things that weren’t serving me any more and really stepping into being the best version of myself. My transformation through the power of yoga is what inspired me to become a yoga teacher. My hope is that everyone on the planet is taking a stand in their own greatness and in turn creating a ripple effect in their families, communities and beyond.

I am a Certified Baptiste Teacher. I completed Level 1 with Baron in 2009 and have since gone on to complete Levels 2 & 3. Through Baptiste training I was introduced to Africa Yoga Project. Since then I have become a mentor to an AYP teacher and recently returned from doing a Seva Safari in Kenya with AYP. Being of service through AYP has busted my heart wide open. I realize that being a part of something bigger than myself is what brings purpose to my life. It has showed me the power of WE, and what is possible when we serve one another from connection.

In my local community, I am involved with a program called Girl PowHer. It is a yoga program for at risk teen girls with the intention to empower them to stay connected to themselves and to stay in school.

I am most proud of my family. My two boys, who are my biggest teachers and my husband who is my Rock.
