Dr. Amanda Lee (Dr. Mandy) is a Chiropractor, certified Fitness and Yoga instructor, and former competitive swimmer who combines conservative chiropractic care with her knowledge of exercise and sport to guide her patients to a more balanced, healthier lifestyle. Amanda is an enthusiastic and compassionate practitioner who knows the importance of living a healthy life and is truly passionate about everything she does. Her refreshing approach to life and warm personality will always make you feel welcome and comfortable.
Born and raised in Ontario, Dr. Mandy spent 15 years as a competitive swimmer. She attended Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi on a swimming scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1999 and a Master’s in Education in 2000. She enjoyed 5 very successful years in the U.S.A. before returning to Canada to attend Chiropractic School. In her final year of University she was nationally recognized as the 1999 NCAA Woman of the Year for the State of Mississippi. In June of 2004, she graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College as a Doctor of Chiropractic. During her 4 years at Chiropractic school she served on the Students’ Council and as the Class Representative. She was recipient of many awards during her 4 years that recognized her for her service to the school and community.
After her swimming career concluded and during chiropractic college, Dr. Mandy pursued a new passion in the field of fitness instructing and it is evident that she truly loves what she does. What she loves most about fitness instructing is that she is able to use her own body and expertise to inspire and motivate others to get fit and reach their health and fitness goals. Dr. Mandy teaches various programs each week that include weights, step/cardio, yoga/pilates, indoor spinning and outdoor road riding. In her classes, she uses her unique sense of humour to show people that exercising IS fun and helps people see that exercising is not a chore but rather something they can look forward to each day. Dr. Mandy has won several awards for her instructing and in 2003-2004 she was named one of five finalists for Instructor of the Year for one of Canada's leading fitness chains.
Most recently, Dr. Mandy completed her first half marathon in Vancouver and her first sprint and olympic distance triathlon this summer. She looks forward to competing in more triathlons in the coming years with her short-term goal being a 1/2 Ironman and her ultimate goal being a full Ironman in the years to come.
Dr. Mandy works full time as a Chiropractor in Edgemont Village in North Vancouver at Bloom Family Wellness Centre. Through her business, her goal is to get more people involved with their own healthcare and to educate them on how to take better care of themselves, promote overall wellness and help prevent injury. It is clear that Dr. Mandy leads by example. She is thrilled to be teaming up with Lululemon as an ambassador and looks forward to helping the people in this community lead happier, healthier lives.
