Alumni Ambassador Julia McCabe

Neoalpine/YYoga

I once saw a T-shirt on a guy in an airport line-up that read "Educate = Liberate". I loved it so much that it quickly became my motto. The act of teaching yoga is liberating in every sense, for both teachers and students. And the art of it truly begins with the wisdom that you are already arriving with. The rest comes with time, patience, courageous perseverance and you ... well, being you. I fell in love with yoga and the freedom of it at my home studio here in Whistler, B.C at Neoalpine Yoga. Since 2000 I have travelled to study with Paul Dallaghan at Yoga Thailand (Ashtanga tradition) and more directly under the friendship/teachership of Patrick Creelman (Anusara Yoga). I have been blessed to work with a collection of amazing yogis between 2005-2008 in Hong Kong at Pure Yoga... Read the profile >>

Alumni Ambassador Karla Treadway

Karla Treadway fell in love with yoga after moving to the coast mountains and getting involved with the large and loving yoga community in Whistler, British Columbia. With a passion for all things outdoors, yoga was a perfect complement to train for and recover from all other activities. Skiing, touring, snowmobiling, biking, running and watersports can work a girl over through the years. Long distance running and weight training used to be her primary source of fitness but yoga blew that door shut as she realized she could get just as strong and have way more fun doing it with yoga alone. Over time, the other benefits of yoga began making themselves known. Connectedness, peace, concentration and love are a few of the many other fruits of yoga. With a belief that all things should be... Read the profile >>

Ambassador Erin Anderson

White Gold Yoga

Yoga for Erin is: "a place where the truth lies. Breath and movement connect to a deeper knowledge of myself and what is. I find challenge, joy, healing, creativity and strength through yoga which I carry through into my life. Yoga has asked me to be up to something bigger than myself which I find very exciting! All of this is what I would like to share with others. What inspires me is seeing others willing to move through their own stuff. The guts it takes to face the dark side and the compassion to open up to bigger possibilities is what lights me up. It’s not the grip and effort, it’s the power in vulnerability that lights my jets. I see it everywhere, in those practicing yoga for the first time to seasoned yogis - the courage to be vulnerable makes my heart sing." Erin is... Read the profile >>
