Katrina was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, She now calls Whistler her home. She spent the last 12 years traveling the globe as a professional mountain bike athlete – She has represented Canada at the Downhill World Championships, been in countless ad campaigns and magazine articles and played a pivotal role with the introduction of women’s specific mountain bike events. In addition, She has an established reputation as a first class mountain bike coach and have contributed to the success of many mountain bike riders and athletes.

After obtaining her degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia and getting her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, She began training recreational, elite and aspiring athletes of all disciplines (www.strandtraining.com)

Currently, Katrina is working with the Cycling BC Downhill Team, Whistler Highschool Mountain Bike Race Team and elite athletes such as Claire Buchar, Chris Kovarik, Paul Stevens and Sarah Leishman.

Most recently, Katrina was appointed one of the most “Influential People in Mountain Biking” (Decline Magazine) as well as Whistler’s Favorite Coach and Whistler’s Favorite Athlete. (Pique News Magazine).
